Finding connection and community through music has been a central tenet for Ilana Goldberg since she began performing as a young artist in the Chicagoland area. Now based in New York City, Ilana skillfully maneuvers through operatic, contemporary, musical theater, choral, along with cantorial repertoires, maintaining a devotion to communication through song in whichever genre presented.

Her diverse vocal journey has included her solo debut at Carnegie Hall, presenting “Maria” (Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy),  her film debut performing “Panis Angelicus” (Franck) in the award winning movie The Miracle Twerker, and her solo voice and chamber concert featuring newly commissioned arrangements in conjunction with a promotional event for EVEN headphones.

Some more traditional works include performing at The Castleton Festival, under the baton of Maestro Lorin Maazel, Une Pastourelle (L'enfant et les sortilèges) and covering Nella (Gianni Schicchi). As an Apprentice Artist at the Ash Lawn Opera Festival, she sang the role of Ethel Toffelmier (The Music Man). Other roles include Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore), Despina (Cosi Fan Tutte), Manon (Manon), First Lady/Pamina (Die Zauberflöte). Ilana spent many formative summers performing at the Chautauqua Institution Music Festival.

Ilana, a US Presidential Scholar in the Arts, has had the honor of performing for many of our country’s highest dignitaries, both at the White House and at the John F. Kennedy Center. After being awarded by the National Foundation of Arts and Awards, now known as YoungArts, Ilana was a featured singer in the HBO special Masterclass with Plácido Domingo. She was a finalist in the Franco-American Vocal Academy's Grand Concours de Chant and is a recipient of the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust, Jewish Vocational Services Fund and a Merit Scholarship (Manhattan School of Music).

Ilana relishes her ability to lead as a Cantorial soloist, as she did for years at Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago. She has performed recitals in the Cantorial, Sephardic, and Yiddish repertoire across the country, including New York City, Chicago, New Jersey, and Boca Raton. She has also performed as the Soprano Choral Scholar with the Oratorio Society of New York, under the baton of Kent Tritle, at Carnegie Hall.

She holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree from Manhattan School of Music.
